With young phenoms Mike Trout, Kris Bryant, Bryce Harper, among others who are now headlining the new elites of baseball, we find ourselves in one of the best times of baseball history.  Never before have we seen such a wave of new young talent that has taken the league by storm and performing at such dominate levels.  It seems almost daily that new records are being set.  There is a whole lot full of MLBers who numerically speaking are crushing it in DFS MLB.  That is because the All-star caliber players are differentiated themselves and separated from the rest of the league based on their sheer talent.  Many of these players possess all five tools necessary to thrive in baseball: Speed, Arm strength, Good glove, Batting contact, Batting power.  Having put together all of these traits together over the length of the season will usually win the player the coveted MVP award, but there is one looming “award” that is seemingly unattainable.  It is more of a statistical feat rather than an award that is given; what I am talking about here is the glorious Triple Crown.

The Triple Crown is up for grabs year in and year out.  Why then have you either: Never heard of it or Don’t remember when the last time someone accomplished it?  Simply because it is darn near impossible!  The triple crown is awarded to a player who leads his division in the following three stats: Batting average, Home Runs, and Runs Batted In.  Take a step back and marvel at how undeniably difficult this is to achieve, guys who would be fantasy baseball pickups here simply the games elites.  Only 14 players all time (!) have been donned this illustrious achievement, most recent being Miguel Cabrera of the Detroit Tigers in 2012.  This MAN hit a jaw dropping : .330BA, 139 RBI, and 44HR that year.  With those remarkable slashes there was no doubt he would have been a daily fantasy baseball pick day in and day out.  Miguel slugged the Tigers nearly eight more wins on the year when looking at his offensive WAR numbers.  Those extra wins secured the AL central for the Tigers en route to making it all the way to the World Series, eventually falling to the Giants via sweep.  Triple Crowns are unboundedly one of the hardest statistical feats to ever be accomplished.  It would be similar to Lebron James leading the entire NBA in Points, Rebounds, and Assists per game, something that just doesn't happen.  Compile that with Cabrera playing 161 games that season and having the excellence and success to continue such impressive play throughout the season shows what kind of player it take to accomplish the holy grail of hitting.
